The Prime Pen

Bombs and Dolls
Dedicated to the children who wake up to a world of fear instead of play, who lose their homes, schools, and families through no fault of their own. May their suffering not go unnoticed, and may their hope for tomorrow endure.

78

A lone girl standing in sorrow,
Will she ever get to see tomorrow?
Last night, while sleeping, she heard the bombs creep in,
Tomorrow, when she woke, she no more had her school
“Are they saving me? What a fool!”

No more home, no more school, no more supper, no more dolls,
How to live when the father falls?
“Please don’t kill us! We are not to blame!
You are killing innocent, what a shame!”
